Staff

Lou Salvino - President

Lou Salvino's background is mainly in the financial services industry and owns The Financial Forum Ltd., a mortgage brokerage firm in Vaughan, Ontario. He has been a licensed Mortgage Broker since 1983. In addition, he has provided consulting and financial services to many small businesses over the years. Entry into the golf business started somewhat by chance, however, he takes it very seriously and dedicates much of his time and attention towards making Northern Dunes a great facility. Lou is in constant communication with management, who provide the necessary feedback to oversee the operations.

Although you do not see him at the course on a daily basis, his visits are frequent and he enjoys communicating with all the members, guests and staff.

Steve Sims - Director of Golf

Starting February 1st 2011 Steve became the newest member of the Northern Dunes family. Steve comes to the Hepworth area via Victoria where he spent the past 5 years going to school at Camosun College and working a large resort. Steve had been a CPGA Assistant professional for the past 4 years until acheiving his Class A status and moving into the Director of Golf roll. Along with his experiences in the golf industry brings an enthusiastic, fun and easy to approach attitude.

Some of Steve's career golf highlights include 5 Hole in 1's and competing in Long Drive Competitions. However, if you ask Steve he'll tell you his proudest golf accomplishment is his annual "Bucket's for Bucks" Cancer Fundraiser, where he hits golf balls for 24 hours straight in order to raise funds for Cancer Research. In 2 years, Steve has raised more than $17,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society and in the 48 Hours hit more than 10,000 golf balls.

Tiffany Greig - Clubhouse Manager

Tiffany Greig is starting her 5th season at Northern Dunes. She has an extensive background in the service industry. Tiffany has worked at such prestigious locales as the Wiarton Inn and Waterview on the Bay, Little Cove in Tobermory and Marydale's in Lion's Head. Tiffany has strong roots in the community. She is also a proud teacher in the Bluewater District School Board.

Tiffany has a strong action plan for a newer simplified menu and continued service for the golfing season. Tiffany excels at customer satisfaction and wants everyone to feel welcome and enjoy their experience enough for a return visit.

Kevin Harders - Golf Course Superintendent

Kevin Harders has just recently been a welcome addition to the Northern Dunes family. Kevin comes to us from Saugeen Golf Club where he was the Assistant Superintendent there for the past 4 years.

Being a part of the Grey Bruce area for the past 25 years he is very excited to have the opportunity to be at a golf course close to his hometown roots. Kevin is now a second generation golf course superintendent as his father Ben Harders was the Superintendent at Saugeen in the late 70’s to early 80’s. In 2009 Kevin attended the University of Massachusetts to be a part of the highly prestige’s Turf Managers Course where he was only one of seven Canadians to be accepted.

Kevin has had a passion for the game of golf since he was about 10 years old and continues to still to this day. With saying that he is truly dedicated and committed to the golf industry and Northern Dunes itself. With the experience he brings from his previous endeavours he plans on providing nothing but the best possible playing conditions and making Northern Dunes the best it can be.
